The Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji (MSAF) was lucky enough to have its Quality Assurance Officer Shaleen Lata part of a group of eight Fijians that represented Fiji to the 43rd International Convention on Quality Control Circle (ICQCC) 2018, held in Singapore.

Aligning MSAF’s goals and vision to the objective of the ICQCC 2018, MSAF is internationally recognized under the ISO 9001:2015 certification.

The ICQCC is one of a kind in the sense that it provides the platform for knowledge based sharing between participants from across the world, in this case, representatives from various organisations in 13 countries worldwide that registered for this year’s convention.

The objective of the ICQCC is to help organisations draw up innovative plans which are regarded as timeless tools for companies seeking to achieve excellence in all areas of services.

This year’s convention featured countries such as Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Thailand with 448 teams registering to be part of the convention held over a three day period.

The primary goal of attending conventions as such is to attain international recognition which promotes capacity building and cross learning that will boost and enhance service delivery for participating organisations.

After a successful ICQCC 2018, participating countries are now preparing for the Convention which will be held in Tokyo, Japan next year.

Amazingly, Fiji scooped the Gold Award which was presented to 100 teams out of the 448 participating teams.
